The Mets fan who snagged Barry Bonds' record-breaking 756th home run ball is now a whole lot richer.
The ball Matt Murphy caught last month sold at auction yesterday for $752,000 – about $250,000 more than experts had predicted.
The 21-year-old college student from Queens had said he wanted to keep the ball, but couldn't because of the taxes he would have had to pay. The ball's new owner does not want to be identified.
Meanwhile, Bonds' 755th home run ball – which tied Hank Aaron's career mark – sold for more than $186,000.
