August 22, 2013 at 7:30 AM ET – So you just dropped $105 on a crisp white pair of Nike Air Jordan 1 mids, only you don’t want to get them dirty. Ivan Potocnik, a student at State University of New York at Oneonta, seems to have found a solution. At least, if you visit an outdoor cookout with a messy grillmaster.
Ivan invested in a spray can of NeverWet, a superhydrophobic coating that repels water. After treating his Air Jordans with NeverWet, Potocnik decided to test the repellent’s efficiency with Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse barbecue sauce. In a new video uploaded to Youtube, the bassist and gaming enthusiast can be seen pouring the normally-messy and tangy substance over a clean shoe. Watch the results below:
