2011 National Puerto
Rican Day Parade
The first New York Puerto Rican Day Parade was held in
Manhattan in the mid 90's Participants included local
Nuyoricans, as well as a variety of Mayors from Puerto Rico.
The purpose of the parade
is to create national awareness and appreciation of Puerto
Rican culture, as well as its contribution to the culture and
society of the United States.
